Lucknow: In a significant breakthrough against inter-district vehicle theft, the Thakurganj police team has arrested five individuals belonging to a gang involved in extensive motorcycle theft. Under the leadership of Inspector Shrikant Rai and with the support of the surveillance team from the DCP Western Zone, the operation led to the recovery of 10 stolen motorcycles.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kuldeep Gautam, alias KD, Jitendra Gautam, Satyam Yadav, Satish Maurya, and Jatin Gupta. Acting on directives from DCP Western Omveer Singh and ACP Rajkumar Singh, the Thakurganj police, with their surveillance team, successfully apprehended the suspects, who have been linked to thefts across multiple districts, including Lucknow and Sitapur.
During a press conference, DCP Omveer Singh revealed that the stolen motorcycles included five from Lucknow and five from other districts. The investigation showed that the gang had been systematically targeting bikes across regions, causing a spike in local theft cases.
In recognition of the swift and coordinated efforts, a reward of Rs 25,000 has been announced for the Thakurganj police team involved in the arrests.
